Photo of the Fortnight #8 – BC Road Trip

This article has links to products and services we love, which we may make commission from.

Road trips, lakes, crashing a wake! Craig has accomplished more in Canada this fortnight than he did during the one year that he lived here.

We are now stationary in Beautiful B.C and we have lots of photographic delights to share. My parents visited us on The Sunshine Coast (real name!) for five nights so we hired a car and took to the road.

You voted and the winner of Photo of the Fortnight #7 was a tie between three photos! A guest at our hostel saved the day (thanks Oso!) and his deciding vote goes to… Photo 1 The Street Art in Havana.

Now for Photo of the Fortnight #8. We look forward to hearing from you and will announce the winner through Facebook (not with us on there yet? Join the other 1020 lovely people and ‘like’ us here.)

It’s been such a magic fortnight Andy, back to Vanc on Monday for three nights. Looking forward to The Big Smoke. Raining today which is good for the forest fires. Love to you and Rosemary.

  1. Photo number 6 for me. Love the composition and the sky-very arty! And what’s with that road sign? I like to think it’s a couple hula-hooping!

It is! It was originally a sign to tell drivers to watch out for kids crossing near the school (although they look very business like!) and someone gave it some hula hooping love!

  2. My vote goes for photo 5. I’ve never been to Canada (crying a little inside because of it) but this encapsulates the way I imagine it. Stunning landscape, lush green forests, distant mountains and lively, adventurous water. Hope you guys are having a blast over there… can’t wait to get some photos like this for myself :).

  3. My vote goes for number 1 » The city poking through the Chinese Gardens in Vancouver
Love the cultural mix, the modern and ancient in just one place…
All the photos are beautiful, but for me the number 1 is unique!

    All the best,

    Nat

  4. Photo #1 is the most artistic. But as a travel photo, I would say that it compels me the most to visit that place. I’ve been to Vancouver B.C. many times, but somehow I managed to miss the Chinese Gardens and now I want to go!

  5. We do like our Big trucks here in Canada, our mountains, and even more so…our lakes. Nice photos (tho Van had like 150 less days of sun than ontario because of the mountains and ocean sooooo…its more the place people go to get S.A.D.’s.)

Soooo many people have said to me – you’re moving to Van, I hope you like the rain! I’M SCOTTISH! Haha! At least they can look forward to a decent summer, we can’t say that back home. Your lakes are unreal. Heading back to Katherine tomorrow actually.

      1. We are currently in Canada on part of an unplanned, unexpected trip to the Yukon (and now back).

        Amazing part of the country.

Time for a couple of days in Toronto (once we finally get there tomorrow morning)

  6. #1 love the city view through the garden! Though that funky crosswalk sign is pretty awesome too. Glad you guys had a great time exploring!

  7. Photo number 1 is my favourite, but they’re all great. Although I think photo 3 is a bit of a misrepresentation. The car isn’t big, you’re just really wee!
