Walk right from your accommodation and try some of the best restaurants on offer in Perth.
Best places to eat in Perth
The Beach Club
Nicknamed ‘The Cot’ by locals, this restaurant will satisfy all of your fine dining desires. It’s situated right next to the beach and has a lovely outdoor area, which allows you to truly soak up all of Perth’s beauty. The cocktails are fantastic and will always leave you wanting more; their website recommends the pink and pretty Vertigo and the Chocolate Negroni. The Beach Club’s tapas style dishes are perfect for grazing on and enjoying the atmosphere. If you fancy a more laid back experience you can use the lounging areas that still manage to ooze sophistication. You can expect comforting dishes such as “Charred pork ribs”, and “Beer battered barramundi” – their pizzas are also a must!
According to their website, their cuisine is “a blending of the world’s finest culinary techniques, and Australia’s abundant choice of fresh produce; resulting in what is the most exciting, innovative, and above all flavoursome cuisine today.” The food here is described as modern Australian, and you can expect dishes such as ‘Chilled vichyssoise soup, mixed herb, Cervantes lobster and green peas” and “Confit of duck leg, braised brussel sprouts with honey and dukkah potato waffle”. Not only is the food fantastic and award winning, but the restaurant also offers some of the best views of the swan river, and of the city skyline. At ‘Friends’ you can experience great music, great food, award-winning wine, great service and great views! It’s truly fine dining.
This restaurant is named after a type of restaurant/bar popular in Italy, Mexico, and Spain. “Cantina 663” has an extensive wine list, plenty of cocktails to choose from, and has a relaxed atmosphere. You can expect dinner dishes such as “Butter poached pork belly”, and “Roast pumpkin salad”. There are gluten-free options to many of the dishes offered, and they also serve brunch.
Rockpool Bar + Grill
If you want a place with exceptional atmosphere, exceptional food and waiters that really know their menu, “Rockpool Bar + Grill” really is the place to go. The service is truly impeccable, and it’s a fantastic place for special occasions. The restaurant has a wine list showcasing over 2300 wines, and it won the “Wine Spectator 2016” award of excellence, among many other awards for their food. The beef is the star of the show, but seafood is also one of their specialties. The restaurant has a purpose-built fish filleting room, and tanks housing live shellfish. If wine isn’t your thing, then you have plenty of choice in terms of impressive cocktails!
This is Western Australia’s only revolving restaurant, and so this one isn’t to be missed! Their chefs are incredibly talented and offer an innovative, modern Australian menu with fresh, premium quality ingredients. “C Restaurant” was the 2014 winner of the “Gold Plate” from the Catering Institute. They offer a vegan main menu which is uncommon and impressive to see, as this is what many award-winning restaurants seem to lack. Their vegan menu they serve dishes such as “Mushroom and potato cannelloni, puy lentils, and caramelised cauliflower puree”, and on their general menu they serve dishes such as, “Turkey ballotine, pork and sage stuffing, potato mash, Brussel sprouts, pumpkin, and gravy.”
This restaurant is described on its website as, “Perth’s most glamorous dining experience”, and the only way to find out is to go and visit yourself. “Opus” serves French and modern Australian cuisine, and uses some of the finest and freshest ingredients for their dishes. You can expect main dishes such as, “South Australian King Fish”, and “Creamed Cous Cous”. This is a great choice for late evening dining.
Situated in the heart of Perth, this modern Australian restaurant has a twist of traditional Italian cuisine, which fits so perfectly. It’s a very hospitable place, which can cater to many dining experiences. There is plenty of room inside, and outdoors by the water, however, the restaurant can also be an intimate setting if you should need it to be. You can expect mains such as “Kangaroo loin”, or more vegetarian options such as “Gnocchi pomodoro e mozzarella”.

All of these places get pretty crowded and so it’s recommended that you look to book in advance, but that’s to be expected from such great quality food and service! Having fantastic dining and hotel experiences is the key to a perfect trip abroad.
